Guidelines for speakers

We have adapted Phil Race’s (University of Leeds) guidelines (pdf) on conference presentations and workshops for those who may appreciate some help in ensuring their sessions are relevant and interactive. We appreciate that many of you are experienced presenters. These guidelines are issued to ensure that all sessions are of an equally participative nature.

Guidelines for posters

Posters should be portrait orientation, size A0 maxiumum (841mm wide x 1189mm high, or 33.1 in wide × 46.8 in high). Ideas for designing effective posters can be found at www.ncsu.edu/project/posters/NewSite/ (external site).

Filming of the conference

Plenary sessions of the conference will be documented with audiovisual capture.  If you prefer not to be recorded, please write to this effect to the organisers in advance of the conference and you will be seated out of view of the cameras.

Powerpoint presentations

If you are using a powerpoint presentation as part of your workshop, please bring this with you on a USB data stick.  Presentations will be made available for download on the website after the conference.  If you would prefer that your presentation not be available to other delegates, please write to this effect to the organisers in advance of the conference.

Please note

There will be no photocopying or printing facilities at the conference.  If you wish to use handouts during your presentation, please bring these with you.
