Meet the team…
The Resilience Forum is only made possible through the hard work and commitment of our amazing volunteers and staff. Rosie and Viktoria currently facilitate the Resilience Forum, guiding new speakers through the application process and supporting the development of sessions with Rosie also co-hosting on the day. Laura supports the team with admin and the set-up of MS teams while Buket and Vicki provide support to Viktoria, Rosie and Laura in a number of ways including online tech support and Forum facilitation.

Rosie is a PhD student and Boingboing volunteer currently working with the Centre of Resilience for Social Justice at the University of Brighton, in partnership with Boingboing, Blackpool Council and Blackpool HeadStart. Rosie is reserching the sustainability and efficacy of the Academic Resilience Approach (ARA) and the degree to which the ARA influences secondary school exclusion rates through the lens of mental health.

Viktoria is a PhD student at the University of Brighton’s Centre of Resilience for Social Justice and a Boingboing volunteer. In line with the Boingboing approach to resilience she wants to make sure to hold systems accountable rather than blaming the individual for their struggles. She does that through climate change activism as she doesn’t think it’s fair that even though climate change is a result of the greed of a handful of corporations, now individuals and young people are made responsible to fix the issue.

Laura is a co-leader of the Resilience Revolution in Blackpool, which she has been part of for nearly four years. Laura has contributed to work locally in Blackpool, but also as part of our bigger resilience social movement alongside Boingboing and the Centre of Resilience for Social Justice at the University of Brighton.

Buket is a PhD student and visiting researcher at the Centre of Resilience for Social Justice and Boingboing volunteer. Buket is currently writing her dissertation which focuses on the well-being and development of children living under armed conflict, poverty, and social injustice in the eastern part of Turkey.

Vicki is the Senior Practice Development Lead for Boingboing working alongside Blackpool’s Resilience Revolution. A qualifed social worker, Vicki has extensive experience working with disadvantaged young people and their families as well as 15 years experinece working with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).
Helping not hurting: horizontal care to peer care in a UK prison – 26 Apr 2022 – Online Resilience Forum
Over the past two decades, the proportion of older prisoners in England and Wales has increased dramatically, which is problematic as prisons are not designed for issues associated with older adulthood. In this Resilience Forum Dr Warren Stewart will discuss the development of peer care in prisons in support of older adults and disabled detainees.
