Grace Robson – Peer Youth Engagement Worker, Blackpool

Hi, I’m Grace. I am excited to start my new journey with Boingboing and couldn’t be any happier to be part of the team! I became involved with Boingboing by volunteering through the pandemic as I had heard about a new Co-production group they had introduced, through the Youth Team. One of the elements that I loved the most about Boingboing was that they were looking for someone with lived experience. This appealed to me as I have often had my own challenges with mental health and I knew that I would be surrounded by people who understood me and I can see from my experiences through volunteering that the organisation truly value this.

Before Boingboing I worked in the beauty industry – mainly nails. It was a very creative role, growing up I would always play around with makeup or paint my nails, I enjoyed showcasing my designs on a set of nails. I hope to bring my creativity to Boingboing. I am passionate about helping people, I always offer a helping hand. By volunteering for Boingboing I had the desire for a career change, I knew this is what I wanted to do in the future and I look forward to starting my role as a Peer Youth engagement worker.
